What We Do
-
Solar Installations
Rooftop and ground mount solar installations, both residential and commercial.
-
Battery/Storage Installation
We install Tesla Powerwall's. Tesla makes the best battery back up system on the market. Unlike gas generators, Tesla Powerwall's do not require standard maintenance. When the power goes out, you won't even notice.
-
Solar and Battery Maintenance
Do you already have solar and you need a new roof? We offer the best pricing while properly removing and reinstalling your system. Is your system down? Even if you have a contractor and you are under warranty, if that contractor is charging you for any maintenance, you should always get quotes on the work you want done.
What's the process to go Solar?
From beginning to end, the process can take as little as 30 days from design to Installation.
First, we gather some information. Your last utility bill with your previous 12 months of electrical usage. That will tell us what size system or "Offset" you can have. Usually in NY, you can install a solar system that covers up to 110% of your energy needs.
Design
Using that utility bill and your address, we use satellite images to give you an accurate idea of what it would look like, visually and financially, to go solar. If needed, a visit to your home would be necessary. If you choose to go solar with SALAVE, we will dial in the design of your system to include electrical equipment locations and specifics.
This part of the process can take as little as 1 day, or as quickly as we can get the information we need to create the design.
Permitting & Utility Applications
At this point, a contract has been signed and we are on our way to install some solar. Some fun paperwork needs to be filled out and submitted to any governing bodies for approvals. That would include your local building department and utility company.
It typically takes between 2-4 weeks for those approvals.
Installation-Inspections
Approvals have been received to move forward, we can get your system scheduled and installed. The installation, depending on the size of your system, can take between 1 - 5 days. Most of the work is usually outside. We will go over and finalize your options on where the electrical equipment and conduit can be placed according to building and electrical code. When complete, we will schedule the inspections needed to apply for "PTO" or Permission to Operate with the utility.
Utility Approval - PTO
The install is complete, approval to turn the system on has been submitted to the utility. Next, your utility will replace your existing meter with a Net Meter that can monitor the energy you produce. When the utility responds with approval for "PTO", you can turn your system on!
This process can take between 2-6 weeks.
